Each holiday season, the Academy students perform at a winter recital. This recital is meant to be a celebration of what the students have learned in the fall semester, and is not ticketed; we invite guests of the event to contribute what they can to the Capital Area Food Bank, So Others Might Eat, and other area charities.
For ten consecutive years, both Academy and Company dancers have performed at Shivanjali, a combined effort between a number of Indian Classical dance teachers in the area. Proceeds from this ticketed performance go to various international relief organizations, including the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Aim for Seva, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Charity: Water, and numerous others.
Academy and Company dancers have had the honor of performing a number of years at an annual benefit event for Samhati, an organization dedicated to the education and well-being of Bangladeshi women.
