Antora is a professional dancer and performer classically trained in the Indian classical dance style of Odissi under the tutelage of Srimati Sukanya Mukherji—artistic director of Mayur Dance Academy and Company. Antora began her training at the age of 6 after she moved from Bangladesh to the US with her family. She grew up being very culturally involved in performing arts mainly because she and her mother were well known singers in the growing Bengali American community. She continued to pursue singing and dancing throughout high school and college, which motivated her to later take up dance as her main focus. She is currently teaching dance at Mayur Dance Academy and regularly performing as a member of Mayur Dance Company, which started in 2008. Her passion in life is to spread the art and joy of Indian classical dance as she believes dance is quite integral in bringing people together.
